Specialty Training
RISA can provide the following training.
Sports Fitness
We strategically focus on specific sports modalities to effectively enhance stability, range of motion, and overall strength. Ensuring an appropriate balance of muscle tension relationship between anterior and posterior is critical for athletic performance. This is fundamental to the comprehensive programming we offer.
Pitching
Starting at the age of 8U, we slowly introduce the essential firing sequence from loading, launching and finish. By the time they reach 10U, we get them ready for tournament play by adding a change-up to complement their fastball. At 12U, they are fully confident and prepared for the circle, capable of varying speeds and locations with multiple pitches.
Catching
Our methodology prioritizes the core fitness and mechanics essential to the position. Catchers engage in training within small groups, facilitating collaborative learning and support, all under the expert guidance of RISA instructors.
Slapping
We are proud to be the leading training academy dedicated to mastering the distinctive skill of slapping, viewing it as a essential tool for a young player with natural speed.
Bunting
Bunting is an underutilized skill that deserves attention. We focus on a West Coast offensive strategy centered around small ball. Rather than teaching bunting solely as a sacrifice, we instruct athletes on how to use this skill set as an effective scoring tool.
Bunting from the left
Bunting from the left is an offensive strategy we teach that leverages time and distance to gain a tactical edge. By harnessing an athlete's natural speed, we empower them to a skill set that helps them secure a spot in the lineup, as they continue developing their natural swing from the right.
Hitting
We approach hitting very simply, with very specific age appropriate drills and progress as they demonstrate they are ready for the progression drill. Balanced with age appropriate fitness we increase their strength and (NMT) neuromuscular element. Focusing on improving fundamental movement patterns strengthening the connection between the brain and muscles.
Team training
RISA instructors will visit your location to conduct practice sessions and offer programming for coaches aimed at team development. Our objective is to equip coaches with the knowledge and confidence they need to be the best they can for their teams.
Organization practice
RISA instructors will provide guidance and design practice programs for recreational organizations to aid in developing foundational programming for introducing new players to the sport.
